I am a Christian

This means a number of things.

It means that the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, loved me, and died for me (Gal 2:20). God chose me in Him before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4), not because of anything I had done, but because of His great love and grace (Eph 2:4,5).

It means that Jesus willingly came to this sad world, lived the life I ought to have lived, died the death I deserved, in my place, and bore my sins in his own body on the tree (1 Peter 2:24). He then rose again, triumphant over death and hell, and sat down at the right hand of God (Romans 8:34). Then, in the course of my own life, in grace He granted me repentance (Acts 5:31), and forgave all my sins. As my faithful Great High Priest, He is able to save me to the uttermost - and not only me, but all those who come to God through Him (Hebs 7:25).

It means that now I say with the apostle: "We love Him because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19). I endeavour, feebly, with the help of the Spirit, to follow and please my Alpha and Omega - and those of you who know me will know how feebly!

Lastly, it means I must and do believe my Saviour when He says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me" (John 14:6), and must therefore plead with you to flee from the wrath to come, to Jesus, who will never drive away any that come to Him (John 6:37).
